Draw Your Own Disney Character

Did you know that you are able to draw your own Disney character with a talented Disney animator?! If you visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, you can participate in this experience! On our last trip, we checked out “The Animation Experience at Conservation Station” and I am going to tell you a little about it!

Many do not know about this experience because it is kind of hidden. You will first board The Wildlife Express Train to Rafiki’s Planet Watch. This is located in the Africa section (to the right of Kilimanjaro Safaris) of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. It is recommended that you board the train 40 minutes prior to your experience time. Make sure to check your My Disney Experience App for times of this experience. You can also book a Lightning Lane for it with the purchase of the Genie+ Service.

Once your train arrives, you will board it and set off on your adventure to Rafiki’s Planet Watch. I thought this was so neat because you get to see the behind the scenes of the Kilimanjaro Safaris and where all the animals are kept on your way.

Once you depart the train, you will take a walking path to a big building that has The Animation Experience located inside. Once you get inside the Conservation Station, you will see an area with cast members ready to greet you. The photo you are drawing will be on display. You will gather the supplies you need to draw your creation. The photos rotate throughout the day and you are able to participate as much as you want, as long as there is room. Keep in mind, they make you clear the seats and get back in line for the next drawing.

You will have a few big screens in front of you so everyone can see exactly what they need to be drawing. This experience takes about 25 minutes to complete. It is a nice relaxing break from that Florida heat and gets you off of your feet for a bit. You also get an awesome free souvenir to take home!

I would be here all day if I could. I really enjoyed learning to draw different characters. This was the next character that was going to be drawn in the session after us!

If you have any questions about this experience, please feel free to reach out!
